Slow down and find your focus
Stand still and see the beauty
Our first Instagram post of 2020 urged us to slow down a bit and find more "beauty in the rush of life." The idea was to let ourselves get less carried away by the daily grind and chart a stronger course for ourselves, both personally and professionally. Scheduling moments of silence every day allows you to connect with yourself, making it easier to truly open yourself to connecting with others.
Riverstones' mission is to inspire women to find "beauty in the rush of life." But I have to admit, this is a challenge for me too, and before I knew it, I had too many plans to fulfill in the first half of this year. Then came the coronavirus crisis, forcing us all to pause. Except, of course, for those in crucial jobs in vital sectors.
It took some getting used to at first. The whole family at home. Working with a little boy of over a year and a half running around isn't ideal. And there was a lot of uncertainty. About the health of your loved ones, the health of others, and of course, business-wise. After those first few weeks, and when it became clear it would last a while, I started to calm down. This pandemic gave me time to focus. Time to see what wasn't working for me, which was quite a feat, I must admit. But also time to discover what makes my energy flow. And that's being creative. Back to the beginning, when I started Riverstones with homemade bracelets. The fact that we're all being thrown back to basics gives you the opportunity to see where your passion lies. So try to find what inspires you and what truly brings you joy!
